You must not take everything so literally in religion. What makes religion so acceptable by many is its ambiguity. It is open for interpretation. It will be contradictory at times, but you should not attack it because of this. To answer your question, evil and imperfectness were created by the devil, and therefore not approved by God, but still exist in this world.
