Can I burn a lightscribe label onto an inkjet-printable DVD?

I want to know if anyone has ever tried etching a lightscribe label on an inkjet-printable DVD? I just got the bright idea of literally "burning" a design into that paper-like surface, so the whole label is a b/w burn mark. Kinda like a tattoo. Does it work? I have a DVD Burner with Lightscribe, but I'm afraid of messing up my burner, so I want to know if anyone has tried it and what he results were.
