Asking a girl to be homecoming date?

Hi! I would like to ask a girl(Angela) to homecoming l that sits next to me in my spanish cl. I tried going up to her in the hall but I couldn't because there were too many people near us. One thought I had was to write her a note in Spanish and when no one is looking, put it on her desk. The desks in our spanish cl are in such a proximity, I can almost feel her leg. However if I do that, it is an indirect way and what if the wind blows it off of her desk?! Then someone else will know. I want to keep this between Angela and me. How do I ask her without many people knowing? I don't know where she lives or if she even has an interest in me. Isn't it worth a chance to ask?
